September 2015

Dear Parents,

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. ~~~ CS Lewis

At United Christian School our goal is to help our students to develop true wisdom, which is seeing life from God’s perspective. Our wish is to train students to see life through the lens of God.

This year, with 133 pairs of feet on our campus, we are enjoying the challenge of training many young hearts and minds. Our teachers are excited about the numerous avenues of learning we are able to travel.

On Sept. 24th (Thurs.) at 6PM please join us for Open House.  Bring a dish to pass and a dessert and we’ll spend the evening together celebrating your children’s learning and the chance to be in the classrooms and chat with the teachers. Samples of your children’s work will be on display. The evening will start with recitations outside on the green followed by a potluck dinner.  The schedule will allow for time for all parents to visit their children’s classrooms and also have time to enjoy a great dinner.

As we venture into October, keep in mind the Fort Verde Days parade. It will be held on Sat. the 10th and UCS will again be entering a float. The theme is A Blast from the Past as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Fort Verde.  Can you imagine? Fort Verde was established when we were still called the Arizona Territory, long before we became a state.  This is another opportunity to involve our students in the timeline of history and help to bring history alive for them. We’ll keep you updated on our plans for the float and all the particulars.

In closing, let me share a verse which says what we all feel about our students at UCS: 3 John 1:4 – I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

With Gratefulness to God for His Great Work,

Kathy Becker
