January 2016

Dear Parents,                                                                                                   January 2016

The sum of your word is truth and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

~Psalm 119:160~

‘Over 2000 years ago, Socrates taught his pupils by asking them questions.  In today’s classrooms, teachers refuse to judge anyone’s idea. Classical Christian education continues to invest classroom time in Socratic discussions. Christ taught that He was Truth, that Truth could be found, and that there was only one Truth.’ ~~ Discover Classical Christian Education, the Essential Guide for Parents~~

In our present culture, society is struggling to find truth, some truth, any truth. However, we know that absolute truth comes only from God. There is a black and a white, a right and a wrong, a truth and a lie.  Real truth comes only from a real God and from learning to view life from His perspective.  Here at UCS it is a great joy to observe students being guided in how to discern God’s truth daily.

Within a Classical Christian setting, we do not simply tell our students to think a certain way. We use studying and Socratic discussion to help them learn to ask questions and to think intelligently. The goal of thinking, is to lead the student in understanding, which then leads to truth, God’s truth, the only truth.

We are already looking to next year and if we continue to grow as we have in the last two years, we will have another influx of new students. If you are presently enrolled, it is time to submit your re-enrollment forms for the 2016-2017 school year. We limit our class sizes in order to provide the very best education for each student.  Those who are presently enrolled will be given first priority. In view of this, and to make things a bit more convenient for you, we are including a re-enrollment form with this newsletter.  This can be dropped off at the office and you will be well ahead of the game and ready for next year.

Serving the One True God,
