December 2015

Dear Parents,                                                                                    December 2015

When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

I hope you are all rejoicing in this blessed season as we remember our Lord’s birth in a humble manger. We are awed to think of the Great God of heaven sending His precious Son to a sinful earth to die for the sins of man.  We are ever mindful that it is the duty of a Classical Christian school to daily remind our students of Christ’s sacrifice and God’s work in the hearts and minds of mankind.

By now, you should all have received a copy of The Classical Difference, a new quarterly produced by the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Please take time to look through this magazine thoroughly. If you are new to Classical education, it will help you to become more familiar with it. If you are well versed in the history and use of Classical education, you will find the articles insightful and inspiring. This is also a good tool to use to share with those who ask about our school.

A few of the subjects focused on in this first issue are:

·      Testing: SAT verses ACT.  Tips for Classical Christian students regarding college entrance tests.

·      Classical Christian artists involved in movie making where wisdom and moral excellence are stressed.

·      The re-entrance of truth, beauty, and goodness in the Disney mindset.

·      Reports from Classical Christian schools around the country and a listing of member schools.

And now, as we journey through this Christmas season, let us remember to spend time thanking God for His precious gift which opens the door for lost sinners to be found by a loving Savior.

In the words of Charles Dickens, ‘God bless us, every one!’

Soli Deo Gloria! To God be the Glory!
